This sculpture is the metaphor of the struggle between the two worlds of the sculptor.
It is a duel of powerful forces, in which both are attracted towards different worlds, creating a scenic tension: The subject who is standing, the new man, tries to awaken the man from the old world, who clings to the ground, who resists for fear of the unknown.
The tension is evident, the folds, the gestures, the muscles …
On this occasion, the artist also represents both nude figures, thus wanting to convey the primitiveness of the impulses that they transmit. The nude, again, speaks of transparency, honesty in the speech he sends.
